At least N.Y has the sense to keep its Banksy art.

Check out my post about Westminster Council erasing all the Banksy's from their streets.

    UK Government Turns Art Critic

If you didn't know Westminster is where the UK government are based, coincidence or conspiracy? Anyway I've even had response from the one guy on the board who voted to keep it, shame on the suits...

This doesn't look at all like a Banksy. It looks a lot more like someone imitating a Banksy. Yeah, its a rat drawing something, but it looks nothing like any of Banksy's other emblematic rats. For a good compariston example go to Banksy's website (www.banksy.co.uk) and scroll right on the "drawings" section.

Anyway, I guess you can judge for yourselves, but some American guy claiming to be working for Banksy doesn't seem like very solid evidence.

  • pushkinsmile

It's definitely a Banksy, my friend heard the mural was going up and went down and talked to the guy doing it, but Banksy wasnt there- it was a guy who was working for Banksy who said, "he hadnt met Banksy before, but that someone had given him this drawing to do" so, it calls into question the argument as to if you dont work on it, you cant call it yours... and to that i say no comment... as there is enough fodder to teach a college class on the subject.

    banksy or no, I dig

  • QM

It looks a lot like a banksy. The only reason it might not look like most of his other rats is because its a mural and not a stencil. It looks very much like all the rest of his rats though. I suggest some of you go back and take a good look at some of his other rats.

  • Spiny

How is it "definitely" Banksy? It looks nothing like a Banksy.

  • natis

Boo's wings is a strap on set.

  • blablanyc

Brilliant. Instead of the "I Love NY" logo on the shirt, he should have a facial caricature of Bloomberg.

  • MrCow

    looks half-assed

  • Jake Dobkin

Boo has wings, so it's not him. And it's definitely Banksy.

  • starrygordon

Doesn't look like Banksy to me, unless he's gone off his game.

  • natis

    It's Boo from Megatokyo

  • Rfive

Enjoy it now. My guess is that it will be hit by matzu's hose someone else bombing it with a paint balloon.
