Blaine Plays Blame Game, Admits Failure

dbfail.jpgDavid Blaine didn't disappear during his Dive of Death this week, and he's certainly not disappearing from the press. He's now come close to admitting failure, but is blaming both President Bush and nature. That's right, the "amazing" ending he dreamed up was foiled by high winds. "Blaine said his grand finale of diving from a platform 44 feet to the ground while attached to a harness didn't go according to plan. He was supposed to jump and, at 10 feet, be swept away by a bunch of helium-filled balloons. Instead, he dangled awkwardly for a moment before disappearing in an ascent into the night sky." He also added, "I know that it didn't work right when all my friends called up and said, `Wait, what happened? I'm confused.'" Apparently the massive roar of "boos" didn't tip him off. If he said nothing, people would be talking about how horrible the stunt was and when he tries to explain what went wrong people are pissed he's making excuses. People make mistakes. Also, why is everyone saying he should do street magic again as if he has stopped? The whole special was street magic until the bullet catch and "dive of death".

I think some of you would be secretly (or not so secretly) overjoyed if Blaine decided he had to really pull out all the stops on his next stunt and got killed doing it. Not that I can really blame you, although I couldn't really take pleasure in someone's death.

And how does Bush come into it? Steal his audience?

Sharp, I agree. He was much more interesting when he was doing his street magic instead of his non-magic endurance 'feats'.

I wish he would go back to doing street magic tricks. He was good at that.

    Ban NYC horse drawn carriages.

    Nice FailBrat.

The best stunt he could pull would be to disappear completely.
