Did Ronson Snub Rubyfruit?

Was (the now closed) West Village lesbian mainstay Rubyfruit butch-slapped by Lindsay Lohan's love Samantha Ronson? The NY Post reports that the struggling bar/restaurant asked the deejay to play a benefit, but allegedly she refused and her management informed the establishment that "she doesn't do those kind of venues." The club's resident deejay told the paper that, "It's really like betraying her sisters. It just doesn't make sense." Meanwhile, Ronson's spokesperson maintains that she was never even contacted by Rubyfruit...maybe this is their way of drawing attention to their new bar, the RF Lounge (opening in November!)?

So just because she's asked by a lesbian bar to DJ, she has to say yes because she's a lesbian? This is a completely flimsy item and Gothamist should know better. Moving on...

Ronson seems to like new fresh and glamorous places and people- that's why she's with Lindsay and does gigs at Lily Pond. Saving a broken down club like Rubyfruit that's famous for what - having Martina Navratilovas retirement party there? - doesn't seem to be her kind of thing.
