NYC's drop in robberies contributed to 75% of the nation decline in robberies. That would be cold comfort to Pelagio De La Cruz's family.

Dallas, San Antonio and Houston? Well, clearly the answer there is to have more gun ownership to prevent these crimes. :)

^2 I agree. Though I still keep my guard up, the overall drop in crime nowadays gives me much more peace of mind than the 80's or early 90's.

I can remember as a kid when the murder rate was 2K and dropping thinking it would be great if it dropped to 365 a year. No more than one day. Now it's at 496. A few more years and we might just get there.
