Bus Driver Drops First Grader Two Miles From Home

Poor 5-year-old Jaeden Vasquez. Even though he lives across the street from P.S. 111, someone put him on a school bus and the driver kicked him off at the last stop. The Daily News reports that the boy attends an after-school program next door in the Bronx--kids line up for the program or buses--but someone put him on a bus. Though the Department of Education says young children should not be let "off the bus unless an adult is waiting," Jaeden was booted off. He ended up asking a (thankfully) nice stranger how to get home, and she ended up taking him back to P.S. 111 in a cab. His mother said, "The school said they were sorry, but sorry wouldn't have replaced my son if he had gotten killed." DOE is investigating and only told the News, "The driver may have done something wrong... This should never have happened."

irresponsible is only the beginning of the list of this driver's attributes !

Lol "may" have done something wrong.

Does common sense exist anymore?

the driver is an ass, but the blame really belongs on whoever put this kid on the bus in the 1st place.

"The driver may have done something wrong..."

That's an understatement. The driver was a douche.

skin colors of the driver and kid?

thank god for the woman who took him back to the school; everyone was very lucky in that regard.

as for the person who put him on the bus and the bus driver - wow.

but for the mother, i'm really kind of disturbed by her use of the word "replace". i realize what that statement is supposed to mean, but that word is just not a good one to use there.

"The driver may have done something wrong.."

MAY have? I'll go out on a limb here and say he DID do something wrong.

Why does everybody talk like a damned lawyer nowadays?

Why am I not surprised?

they have the bus driver's name. liars.

[7] talks about the mother's use of the word "replace". Why, then, do journalists regularly use the phrase "only child" or "only son" to describe the pain of a parent whose child meets a bad end (in the city or at war) as if things wouldn't be so bad if there were others?
