While Waiting in Car, Man Shot on Upper West Side

2008_09_uwsshoot.jpgPolice say a Pennsylvania resident was fatally shot in his car last night, when "two gunmen walked up to the car and one...fired a single shot into the sedan." The shooting occurred at Columbus Avenue & West 91st Street; the victim's girlfriend had been sitting next to him. The wife of a witness said, "My husband saw the guy running by him" on West 90th. "There was blood on the back of his head and T-shirt." The Daily News adds, "Six people were shot in a series of attacks in Harlem - starting at 8:30 p.m." None of the victims are expected to die.

Renaissance needed in Harlem. Who gives a F about history. (What history?)

Is the upper west side that this man was shot on, near his right lung?

What about this Harlem story? For those who live here, it's very discouraging that 6 shooting incidents happened last night, and there was a police manhunt, helicopters, roadblocks, NYPD galore, and not a single substantial article anywhere to be read. What happened??

"None of the victims are expected to die."

None will die from their gunshot wounds OR none are expected to die because they have immortality.

"While Waiting in Car, Man Shot on Upper West Side"

The upper west side of his body? What about "Man shot waiting in car on the Upper West Side".

Honestly Jen!

@#3:

I agree. All hell was breaking loose up there last night and very little media coverage.

It is indeed cause for concern.

Especially since it's only been a few months since that crazy Memorial Day fiasco up there.

Sounds like a typical night in NYC circa 1987.

Gang related? Sweep them up starting now. Clubhouses or other hangouts - anyone in them is involved. How about confiscating everything they own as evidence as well - perhaps everything their relatives own also.

So what do you want? Maybe you should move to a better neighborhood and spend more money for a place to live if you do not want to be shot.

Dear Pull My Finger,

Thanks for your wise admonitions.

Nobody's whining that the neighborhood is too scary for us, boo hoo.

We'd just like the crime up here to be covered by the media so we know what the @#&$ is going on.

I'm sure you'll be happier staying in your Tribeca duplex, though. Enjoy.

91st and Columbus would be a very nice neighborhood, if you bulldoze the projects. No more gang problems...

The police need to shoot more of these "gangstas."
