- Yankees 7 Baltimore 3: They played a game, but it was the ceremonies that captured all the attention. The Yankees brought back some of the greatest players to ever play for them. From Hall of Famers like Yogi, Whitey Ford, Dave Winfield and Reggie Jackson to fan favorites like Paul O’Neil, Scott Brosius and Tino Martinez and the return of Bernie Williams, the crowd was rocking before the game.
And after the game, the players paraded around the Stadium and Derek Jeter addressed the crowd, thanking them for their support. As for you trivia hounds or those interested in the actual game, Pettitte gets the last win, Rivera the last save, Jason Giambi the last hit and Jose Molina (yes, Jose Molina) the last home run ever at Yankee Stadium.
- Atlanta 7 Mets 6: Yes, the bullpen blew another game, but it is important to keep things in perspective. The Mets have seven games left, all at home and a game and a half lead in the wild card race. The Cubs have clinched the division so they probably won’t be playing at full speed when they come to Shea this week. Things seem bad, but the Mets still control their fate.
- Giants 26 Cincinnati 23 (OT): If there is one thing to worry about after three games this season it is the tendency of the Giants to let inferior teams hang around too long. They did it against Washington and they did it Sunday against the Bengals. The defense sacked Carson Palmer six times, but they couldn’t get a big stop in the fourth quarter to win the game. Nonetheless, the Giants squeaked out a win and head into their bye week 3-0.

Even for this Yankee fan, who believes the team needs rebuilding from the top down, the team's post-game salute to fans was a class act.
This was so dull. The Yankees just love to trot out the relics to give the stadium a proper send off... Why do they need a new stadium? They are greedy. Next year ESPN will ram the new stadium down everyone's throats as well. Such great history for the Yankees! The year this venerable stadium closed down they were trailing the Tampa Bay Rays in the standings.
besides how the Boss and Co lied to get us to pay for his new castle for rich white people... how great was it that they had the final game on ESPN. so you know local persons without cable could enjoy the game.
and nothing says Yankee baseball like Joe Morgan.
They really make it hard to like them.
Rivera did not get the save. It was a non-save situation with the Yanks up by 4.
Rivera didn't get a save in yesterday's game, but he did get the last save in the Stadium from Friday's game.
NY Mets: good hit, no pitch.
