Heather Mills Gets Bronx Cheer for Vegan Food Donation

2008_09_hmills.jpgHeather Mills, the ex-wife of Beatle Paul McCartney, headed to the Bronx yesterday to donate $1 million in vegan food products to the children of Hunts Point. While more than a few Bronx residents didn't really know who she is (when the Daily News showed her photo around, there were "blank faces" or "She looks Mexican, but I don't know her"), others were simply appreciate of her efforts. Tiana Cora, 13 told the News, "She wants to help us," while 37-year-old Tammy Tadua said, "We need more people like her around here." And when asked about her ex's new girlfriend, MTA board member Nancy Shevell, Mills replied, "I have no thoughts. He has exceptional taste in women. That's it."

Give Macca the money back, you scammer vegetarian.

    >>>Mills unexpectedly asked for £40,000 a year for wine (although she rarely drinks alcohol) and £30,000 a year for equestrian activities, but Justice Bennett had to remind her that she did not ride horses anymore.

or making a farty sound with their lips.

bronx cheer means a boo. seems like the people liked it. so they weren't booing.

    vegan, soy or whatever.

the 1 mil will feed the area residents for 2 years and with the economy the way it is, it's needed.

Yeah, this stunt would have gotten through to The People more if she had pulled it off at a state college. When the corner bodega's shelves are filled with Vegan Rella and Rice Dream, we'll know there's something going on here.

Heather Mills, OK...but who's the chick on the left?

  • Spirit of 76

Completely useless. The people will eat this stuff. They may even like it. But at the end of the day, after all the veggie burgers are gone, they'll go back to the staples of low-income diet - cheap meat and processed foods. They just can't afford to buy "healthy" food. Fresh vegetables just don't have the satiety value of deep-fried food or fatty meats. If you want to change people's minds, go for the ones who have the means to change if they like the more expensive soy-based food. Nobody in Hunts Point will pay 3x more for a soy burger if it has to come out of their own pocket.

I know plenty of reasonable vegatarians but I never met a vegan that wasn't an annoying fanatic.

A vegan diet is great if you want to shit wicker furniture.

Humans are omnivorous, that means meat too.
