There's a lot to be said for the old fashioned method of self defense--carry a hat pin with you and use it. Pick one up at a vintage store, pin it to the inside of your bag or coat, and just insert into pervert as required. You will probably want to bring some antibacterial gel to wipe it off when finished.

Nobody can stop you from looking, and on the subway, it's unreasonable to think you could avoid looking at those around you. I've never done the picture thing but I have definitely positioned myself so as to be directly behind a hot chick while going up the steps in the subway. It's an art. You can't let her know you're following but you can't let her get too far away. You also don't want anyone else to figure you out so you have to concentrate on natural movements that don't seem out of place in a group of people jockeying for position for the stairs. Sometimes if a chick suddenly takes the long way around a turnstile I might have to casually place myself behind an old lady struggling to get through the emergency door, or even hold it for her so I'm delayed enough to fall in behind the chick on the other side. It really requires some practice.

You know, I never realized just how violating train and subway harrassment is until it happened to me. I was sure some guy was rubbing up on me in a packed train car but there was no way to *really* be sure. Trust me if I had a better case I would have slugged him. Chicks can't really do that. Snoopy, you are kind of a moron. And obviously not a woman. Open your eyes and your ears--at least once a day on my way to/from work I see a woman getting felt up by/verbally abused by/leered at by a man. I, myself, have gotten countless comments, touches, grabs, etc. It is nice to have a site that is an outlet for our frustrations--a way to publicly humiliate someone that humiliated the victim.
