Amazing. And awful for the poor people he stole from.

now's a great time to enjoy the Kaspar Hauser Nigerian Email Scammer Scam!
http://www.kasperhauser.com/email/
if you haven't already.

really!? people still fall for this nonsense?

"It is the oldest confidence game on the books. The Spanish Prisoner. Fellow says him and his sister, wealthy refugees, left a fortune in the home country. He got out, girl and the money stuck in Spain. Here is her most beautiful portrait. And he needs money to get her and the fortune out. Man who supplies the money gets the fortune and the girl. Oldest con in the world."

And for those of you who want to hear the tables turned on these scammers, you should check out last week's This American Life. It was brilliant.

I didn't know This American Life did stories like these?

Stupid and evil. What a guy!

I think the most embarrassing thing that can happen to you in the world is to have it exposed in the media that you fell for one of those Nigerian scams. It's worse than the guy who was busted for molesting a horse.

Those people were especially vulnerable and maybe with the exception of the schoolteacher, could not make financial decisions for themselves. If these jerks target 10,000 people, maybe 10 or 20 will fall for the scam, and as the money amounts above show, that's all any con man needs.
