No president is more qualified than George W to blather about taxpayer bailouts.
The basis for his own fortune? The Texan taxpayers who gave the Texas Rangers ballclub a free stadium. Unlike the Yankees or Mets, the Rangers own the stadium they did not pay for. Minor partner George W saw his $600,000 piece of the team become a $20,000,000 fortune.
Beats working for a living.

I guess its too late for me to go buy an extra $700K house in Brownsville (thats really worth $125K) with no money down and cash back at closing and get them to write down my mortgage to a new more realistic value so I can flip it at tax-payer expense as well? Or do I have until next week when congress votes on this outrageous rape of the taxpayer?

there are certain people in my life, whom i love very dearly, but who honest to god said to me today that in a year or two, when the economy is recovering it will be because of Bush (and the poor guy won't get the credit) BUT that the last eight years of economic policy have NOTHING to do with the current economic climate.

My point in all of this is that I agree with Atomische.

Wahoo for the insane tax increase that will be coming our way to recover some of the cash dumped into our current economic mess. This is just another example of why the GOP's fiscal policy doesn't work! Screw tax cuts and trickle down effect... give me a functioning economy please.
