Well, When Your Use of Yahoo Mail is Widely Publicized...

2008_09_hisarah.jpgAfter her decision to use personal e-mail accounts, instead of official Alaska state e-mail for state business (perhaps to circumvent subpoenas!), has been widely publicized, of course computer hackers would break into one of Governor Sarah Palin's Yahoo mail accounts with screenshots posted on WikiLeaks (also on Gawker). And of course the McCain-Palin campaign issued a statement, calling the matter a "shocking invasion of the governor's privacy and a violation of law." The FBI and Secret Service are currently investigating. And, for what it's worth, when former governor Eliot Spitzer was investigated for his Troopergate scandal, his emails were targeted (and his personal ones were published!).

    No you didn't

Well #35, I grew up in a Southern Baptist church and anytime I heard the n-word, I challenged the person who said it - clergy included. Guess some of us have principles and will stand up for them, and others will claim to have those same principles but won't risk 'rocking the boat' to do what's right.

  • joeb

Listen, I grew up going to a large evangelical church. Some things that were said in church I agreed with, some I didn't. But I made up my own mind and didn't try to pick a fight with the preacher anytime I didn't agree.

Come on 32, that kind of mentality is what's killing this nation. Do you only want two choices for dinner or two choices for modes of transportation or two choices for careers or two choices of anything else? Then why do you only want two choices for the most important office in the nation?

And 33, you know that wasn't the point, but you're doing the exact same thing the Republicans did when Obama made the lipstick comment. If Obama really only had those issues as a teenager, don't you think he would have stuck up for his own mother, as an adult, to his obviously racist preacher?

  • Politburo

Obama had identity issues when he was a teenager? Stop the presses!

Oh please #31, we know how the 2 party system works and we know that one of them will win not matter what (not a 3rd party).

People want change, Obama is not perfect but he is the lesser of two evils.

It's either him or looney tunes Mc Quack.

To all of the white Obama supporters, here are a couple of quotes straight from his book Dreams of My Father.

'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'

'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'

You still want to vote for someone that hates you?

And for the record, I never vote Republican or Democrat. I have principles.

Obama has never said that he considered himself of the muslim faith, and you know this, which is why you always mention the school and Obama's father in your despicable comments.

  • NYCSniper

Obama in his own book states he was raised in a muslim school. He obviously is not a Muslim now, yet his website claims he was never a muslim. Nice try "gotcha".

"the McCain-Palin campaign issued a statement, calling the matter a "shocking invasion of the governor's privacy and a violation of law."

Oh... I see. It's OK for the republican administration to hack into OUR e-mail whenever they want to... but HER e-mails are somehow sacred.

    Typical republican slime.

  • Politburo

NYCSniper - It's not libel to repeat someone else's accusations, and the bar is a lot higher for libelous political speech.

If you're so concerned about libel, shouldn't you be running around the internet warning all the "Obama = muslim" posters?

Oh, you're not? Maybe that's because you're one of them:

Obama made his mark as the "not-your-same-old" politician. When he makes choices like picking Biden, lying about his Muslim faith...

  • nycviabos

    @NYCSniper-

    "Did she or didn't she?"

She did. There are tens of newspaper articles out there quoting hacked screenshots and subject headings indicating Palin used her Yahoo account for government business.

"I'm not one to say, but would you really risk publishing libelous accusations? Would you be prepared if you were taken to court? Be careful!"

LOL! You're funny. Please do some research on libel before you start libeling others with accusations of libel. Be careful!

@JMH--you're absolutely right, Spitzer's emails were released during the course of an investigation. I was trying to raise the point that Palin and her staff may be trying to use personal email to circumvent subpoenas... during the course of a potential investigation.

  • JMH

Spitzer's emails were targeted by the PROSECUTOR. That's not even close to the same thing as what happened here. I hope the prick that did this gets caught and sent to prison.

To clarify: I'm an Obama supporter, but this is shady and we don't need it.

let's do it for bernie mac, america.

Is there anything these modern Republicans do that doesn't stink of corruption, secrecy and profiteering?

What happened to free markets and small government? That stuff wasn't so bad. Why did they start moving into avoiding public transparency, trying to fire their sisters ex-husband, siding with people who write signs that begin with "Jesus hates...", starting wars and making a fortune from it all?

And why are about half of Americans so dumb they will actually vote for them? Is the smart, nicely spoken, fair-skinned black man really so scary? This one doesn't even have a gun. C'mon America! What happened to our values?

  • NYCSniper

@Jen --- So you're backing up your allegations by citing a website with unlisted sources?

Did she or didn't she? I'm not one to say, but would you really risk publishing libelous accusations? Would you be prepared if you were taken to court? Be careful!
