It seems to be a bank robbery boom time, but could robbers be targeting another ubiquitous and friendly retail operation? WNBC reports that two Starbucks locations in Manhattan were robbed in the past few weeks. The first robbery was at Broadway and West 98h Street on August 29 at 5:30 a.m., while the second was on Third Avenue at 41st around 8 p.m. this past Sunday. "In both cases, the men walked in, pulled out guns, tied up the employees who were in the store, and then hit the cash registers and safes, police said." Understandably, employees at the Third Avenue location didn't want to talk about the incident.

I had no idea Starbucks had that much cash, most people just swipe their cards....oh well, just another reason to patronize independent coffee shops
Just two remarks:
1. Will this robbery be for here or to go?
2. Would you like that cash warmed up?
It's gotta be lehman ex-employees.
Hopefully the dill egg salad sandwiches emerged unscathed.
The mocha latte gang strikes again.
Well, their coffee prices are highway robbery anyways so I guess the robbers were just taking their money back. As long as no employees were hurt, I can care less. I bet the store made that money back in 2 hours. Fuck all this fancy ass coffee, just give me a cup of gas station coffee, I'm good!
I hate when I laugh at babyhitler's quips...
Ex Lehman Brothers employees
why rob them at the start of business? someone should of done a judge reinhold and threw a pot of hot coffee at their faces while sean penn stands by awestruck. they hit the safes, too? inside job.
@ JacqueMehoff
Why rob them at the start of the business day? Because most stores have a large sum of cash in the register to make change. If there is no cash in the register how would you get your change if you paid for your $3 coffee with a $10 bill. Also, less people in the store in the morning. You need to take How to Rob 101. I still have the book if you need it for the class.
"This is a robbery! Put all the money in a large bag, NOW!"
"I'm sorry sir, we don't know what 'large' is. Do you mean a 'tall' bag, or a 'venti' bag, or..."
"Shit! Nothing but fives."
