Teens Attempt to Use Staten Island Ferry as Escape Boat

2008_09_siferrym.jpgThe police arrested five Brooklyn teenagers for, per the Staten Island Advance, "allegedly attacking another teenager then trying to escape on a ferryboat." One of the teens, all 16 years old, supposedly punched someone a block away from the St. George Ferry Terminal and then fled, with four friends, on the Guy V. Molinari ferryboat. The victim pointed out the attacker and cops had to follow the group onto the ferry, eventually taking them into custody on at the Whitehall terminal. The Advance's earlier story reported, "Police called for reinforcements because they did not have enough handcuffs."

What happened to the days of getting into fights and then buying the other guy a drink afterwards?

"ha! those coppers will never catch us on this...slow moving boat that has only 1 destination?"

i guess they didn't think their cunning plan all the way through.

The kids pobably figured the cops would be too mellowed out by the slow, relaxing, picturesque ride to want to arrest anyone.

"There go our suspects! Come on, let's get -- hey, look, the Statue of Liberty..."

Personally, I prefer to use the Ikea water taxi when the cops chase me.

Did I ever tell you the story of How I almost got stabbed at the st. george's library? yes, SI is the worst! even worse than the bronx or e. queens. It's worse cause they have really stupid crimes. Like in the bronx they will mug you for money. In SI they beat you up cause they don't like your baseball cap or something retarded like that.

If you were acting anything like how you act here, I don't think anybody is surprised that someone tried to stab you.
