EVENT: The Museum of Moving Image looks at Saturday Night Live and Presidential Politics tonight with Lorne Michaels, Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler, and James Downey, in part to celebrate the launch of the 2008 edition of The Living Room Candidate at The Times Center. SNL "has been an irreverent and influential commentator on American presidential politics since its debut season in 1975. The show has played an undeniable role in shaping and reflecting the public perception of our leaders and would-be leaders."
7 p.m. // The Times Center [242 West 41 St] // $30
THEATER: Saturday Night Live alum Rachel Dratch joins Xanadu's Cheyenne Jackson, Tony Roberts, Kristen Johnston and others for another round of Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words, which is back in New York after a sold-out run last spring. The show features a line up of rotating performers who interpret the guilty-pleasure autobiographies of the famous and the infamous, in both solo and ensemble “chamber” pieces. It's not known in advance which memoirs will get the treatment, but tell-alls on tap may include works by Ivana Trump, Vanna White, Mr. T, Star Jones, and Tommy Lee, to name a few. (Monday nights only, two drink minimum.) – John Del Signore
7:30 p.m. // Triad Theater [158 West 72 St] // $35-$45
DRINK: If you had a rough start to the week, a little (late) happy hour may be in order. FreeNYC points us towards some bourbon...free bourbon! (Note: this probably won't make your Tuesday any easier.) And free bluegrass, all at the newly opened Ellis Bar. Top it all off with some supper before heading home.
9 to 11 p.m. // Ellis Bar [627 5th Ave, Brooklyn] // Free
MUSIC: (Le) Poisson Rouge sure knows how to book 'em. Tonight they welcome Glacial to the stage. The band is comprised of none other than Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo, along with David Watson and Tony Buck. All for the low, low price of $10.
10 p.m. // (Le) Poisson Rouge [158 Bleecker St] // $10
