Monday Morning A Train Troubles

0809Atrain.jpgWe've received conflicting reports regarding this morning's A train service. As early as 10 minutes ago it's been reported that service from Queens into Brooklyn is "SUSPENDED DUE TO A BROKEN RAIL ALONG THE LINE." Yikes! However, the MTA is saying there are only "residual delays" due to an earlier incident. Has anyone experienced a headache this morning on the line? We'll update as more information comes in.

Experienced delays? Indeed I have, and heard plenty of similar reports. For weeks now, the A has failed to show up for long stretches of time on the A line in Manhattan. What's going on with this line?

There was a thick layer of construction debris on the platform at 181st this morning, and apparently ongoing construction right in that area, causing the train to crawl along at 15 mph blowing the horn. I doubt that it had anything do to with the Queens/Brooklyn delays though.

The A train has really been crappy the past few months.

The A train has been crappy the last 10 years. Every weekend there seems to be more construction delays and what do they have to show for all of this construction? Broken rails and more delays. The MTA is abominable.

The alert this morning on mta.info said that the A was delayed due to "ongoing signal problems at 181st Street Station."

The R32 subway cars are really in poor shape.
