  • From the Gothamist Newsmap: A sexual assault at 130th Ave & Merrick Blvd in Queens, a found DOA at Canal St & Essex St in Seward Park in Manhattan, and aircraft emergency at JFK.
  • Jury selection will begin in the trial of Nixzmary Brown's mother. The prosecution has abandoned strategy of claiming the mother was jealous that the fatally abused child was being sexually assaulted by her stepfather.
  • A Time Warner Cable repairman rushed a little boy suffering a seizure to the hospital in his van, although TWC rules do not permit non-TWC employees inside--and the boy was saved!
  • Gawker finds Luke Russert's blog "annoyingly free of self-awareness." An excerpt of the young Russert's writings, "In the last three months, three things have brought the two candidates together: one, my late father's funeral mass; two, Rick Warren's Saddleback Forum about faith and God; three, 9/11."
