Many people see Carrie Nation and the not necessarily connected Temperance movement as proto-feminists and not historical mothers of Sarah Palin. They wanted to use any means necessary of stopping working class husbands from drinking their paycheck away before feeding their children. If the characterization of Nation is anti-debauchery and not anti-alcohol then it's a mischaracterization. Placing Carrie Nation next to Kenneth Anger feels like a snappy arcana mashup on the surface but I'd have to see the show if it works below it.
