Palin Thinks Obama Regrets Not Picking Clinton for VP

2008_09_palingib2.jpgIn Day 2 of the Sarah Palin Interview on ABC, the Republican vice-presidential candidate touched on a number of topics--abortion, earmarks, and Hillary Clinton.

Yes--she's bringing up Clinton again, telling ABC's Charlie Gibson that Barack Obama might have second thoughts about his vice presidential pick, "I think he's regretting not picking her now, I do. What, what determination, and grit, and even grace through some tough shots that were fired her way -- she handled those well."

Tough shots like the ones Palin herself made (see video 2 here)! On behalf of the Obama campaign, Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz said, "Sarah Palin should spare us the phony sentiment and respect. Governor Palin accused Senator Clinton of whining," (see video 2 here). Of course, maybe Biden's gaffes are giving Obama pause, but the Democratic presidential candidate did tell David Letterman he thinks Joe Biden's the right person for the job.

As for the rest of her interview, Palin explained she'd support abortion if the mother's life is in danger, she is still against stem cell research, and she insisted she killed the Bridge to Nowhere (though she had supported it). The Chicago Sun-Times runs down the areas where Palin seems confused.

And the AP makes a point of reporting how John McCain, when on The View yesterday, "stood by two of his campaign commercials — one which said Obama favored comprehensive sex education for kindergarten students and another that suggested Obama had called Palin a pig. Both are misleading and factually inaccurate." The AP also outlined how McCain has changed:

McCain looked irked when [View co-host] Behar asked him whether he had jettisoned his independence as a candidate by appearing to be in "lock step" with President Bush's policies.

"What specific area have I, quote, 'changed?' Nobody can name it," McCain said.

McCain has changed positions on significant issues. For example, he once opposed Bush's tax cuts but now supports making them permanent. He had opposed lifting the ban on additional offshore oil exploration but now calls for drilling off the U.S. coast. He had been against mandatory caps on greenhouse gas emissions but now favors them.

After five minutes of Palin's drivel, I turned the channel. But not before Google-mapping her home address. That lady may call herself a hockey mom and come on all common folk, but she and her "guy" are the landbarons of Wasilla.

In running the sleaziest campaign since South Carolina in 2000 and standing by completely debunked lies on national television, it’s clear that John McCain would rather lose his integrity than lose an election.

Talk about Bait and Switch!

Gov. Palin is completely opposite of everything Sen. Clinton stands for but the McCain campaign is hoping women just go for her anyway.

Between the sleazy attacks and BS like this, the McCain campaign must really be worried.

Ok, How did I get Two comments at the exact same time stamp?

Did I break something?

With luck, in a couple of months when he loses, McCain will be regretting picking Palin for VP.

Leave Sarah Palin alone! She went to six colleges in six years! That means she's 6 times smarter than everyone.

Sadly, Negative BS campaigns often work.

Look how many false email SPAM are out for Sen. Obama vs. Sen. McCain. It's hardly a coincidence and Many people believe the lies spouted by the McCain campaign.

I think she helps him, by energizing republicans who weren't excited by their chances in this election, but I can't see that she brings over many swing voters. Obama's voter registration drive is immense, but so is the RNC's voter fraud fearmongering.

This is one of the craziest elections I've ever seen, in terms of predictability; variables of race, region, religion, dramatic personal stories, etc.

It certainly isn't boring. I just hope it ends well.

Palin stated that "market forces" should determine the course of healthcare, not government assistance. We've all seen what "market forces" have done to the elderly and for the Pharmacuetical companies. Palin is like McCain; totally for big business and totally out of touch! Remember, if we elect McCain, the whole Republican apparatus of the Executive branch will continue to be in place for FOUR MORE YEARS!!! By the way, this is the voice of an Independent Voter.

She is what she says she is - a hockey mom. She's not cut out for this stuff.

I'm banking on hope that the female voters will do what they do best. hate any bitches. any bitches that appear to be happier than them, prettier than them, the perfect family syndrome etc.

OLD WARRIOR/COLD WARRIOR

The hawkish geezer and the schlocky mom--

Not so much a ticket as a bomb.

The doctor, lawyer, teacher and the furrier--

Not so much a voter as a worrier.

Democrats listen:
The Republicans have consigned Bush to the role of non-person and we must bring him out into the sunshine so the nation will focus on his disastrous reign. We must show that another Peter Principled candidate will set this country back even more. We've got to hammer and hammer away with that message. The name George W Bush and his putrid record has to be mentioned at every opportunity. Then someone, either McCain or the ice lady, will crack and admit what a disaster he is and that would put the last nail in.

Thanks, Jen, for putting this together for us! I was beginning to think nobody had noticed! But speaking of Hillary, where is she, anyway? I feel like we haven't heard peep out of her since Palin's little muzzle appeared on the scene.

Here's something for a laugh:http://newyorkette.com/2008/09/12/reject-du-jour-hair/

Look, the sad fact is this battle will be won on how many republicans sit on their hands. Republicans outnumber democrats 2 to 1 in the bible belt. If you have a huge constituency that believes that a zombie walked on water it's pretty easy to make them believe other things like saying you believe in republican family values when your daughter is getting boned in the governors mansion. The lie is in plain sight and yet the republicans can just look over that. You can't win against this kind of feigned ignorance. The only thing you should be counting on is the disenfranchised republican male. They are legion believe me. They can't believe the party has come to this.

McCain's campain plan could work: Present an empty suit for VP, mock the media, tell lies, avoid questions, deny, deny, deny, run against the problem (although you were the problem) and hope that it won't fall apart in the 2 months before election day.

No, it doesn't. It's "Pay-lin," with a long A sound, not "Pah-lin."

Oh. Then Palin rhymes with Wailing.

^ Xenophobes prefer the whiter shade of Palin.

Obama is "going to regret not picking Hillary"? She ran hard against him and might well have beaten him (were it not for the foolish comments and antics of her Bubba Hubba). If Hillary had won the nomination, where would Sarah Palin be today? I think she would be wiping down used hockey gear and cleaning her guns for the upcoming Moose season. Utterly duplicitous, two-faced Republican offal.

Here's your headline:

Obama Thinks Palin Needs To Mind Her Fuckin' Business.

By surrounding himself with yahoos like Palin, McCain seems to be campaigning as "The Last White Hope".

I'm not a racist, but I'm aware that I live surrounded by 'em. This is one of the most racist countries in the world and I predict that if Obama wins some KKK azzhole or those of similar ilk will promptly conspire to murder him.

The wheels are probably turning as we speak.

Yeah, Future Taliban, in the little windmill in your head!

I'm getting pretty sick of people predicting Obama's assassination. The more people say it, the more the crazies start believing it. It is so irresponsible!
