Gothamist: The Real World Gets Drunk, Makes Out, Slams Hipsters

Who in the hell still cares about anything Real World or Road Rules. At one point both those shows were, believe it or not, educational. Now, producers of the RR shows wants women to be as slutty as possible. I would be surprised if women, especially young teen girls, still watch that show. Basically the show is saying to teen girls, "Be sluts!" because that is how most women on that show act. The only reason why this show is still on the air is because sex sells and they only put sexy women who are willing to do wild things on the show. The RR has been dumb down for this younger generation. As long as women on the show act dumb, show titty meat, willing to have sex with guys only after 10 minutes of knowing them, this show ain't going nowhere!

i have to side with the hipsters on this sorry. nothing turns my stomach worse than mtv. sure, hipsters are pretentious, but ill applaud anyone who throws something at a real world cast member.

I think this "You weren't here x years ago either..." is becoming increasingly invalid. The sad part is, many of these 'hipsters' may have now lived here for 5, 8, even 10 years. And why can't we hold this against the condo and stroller set?

The Real World concept just doesn't work in Brooklyn. "Seven strangers picked to live in a house and have their lives taped. Find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real."? Really? Sounds like every third Brooklyn loft, sans cameras. Shit, in most of them even the camera part is true. We Brooklyn people like to document our shit. Seriously. Seven strangers living together? In New York you are lucky if you're not living with ten strangers, one of whom has too many cats and a penchant for watching porn in the living room. Hey, MTV, we've been there and done that. Not interested. The worst part is that they put these people in my neighborhood. I've been afraid to go to B61 ever since. I'm tired of going to Last Exit. The have no pool table. Real World, please go away.
