I'm a registered Democrat. I've voted for Rangel once in the general elections, though I don't entirely find him to be a suitable candidate (he's still technically more in line with my policies than most GOP candidates). Generally he's good in a pinch, but otherwise a waste of space in office. He needs to step down from the commission, pending an investigation. I don't care how it may look for the future of his career, he needs to act in good faith with the current movement of transparency and decorum in this party. Otherwise he's just proving himself to be another desperate Clinton Democrat. Nobody could actually get away with saying something as obviously phony as "I didn't know" about a tax requirement that anyone his age is aware of. The fact that he's the head of Ways & Means just makes it more head-slappingly stupid.
