  • A "hedge fund maverick" from Russia is suing (ah, America!) the developers behind the Plaza condos to get his deposit back because of "unilateral and impermissible design changes" made--like "unappealing drainage grates" that impeded his views.
  • A group is offering $50,000 for Jews to move to a small Alabama town, because the membership of Temple Emanu-El has gone down and they want to recruit more folks.
  • 50 Cent "won the latest round in an ongoing feud with the mother of his 11-year-old son Monday when a Suffolk County family court judge ruled the rapper can see the boy on alternating weekends," Newsday reports.
  • The NY Times talks to Brooklyn band TV on the Radio; in July "a bulldozer mistakenly plowed into the outside wall of Dave Sitek's Headgear recording studio in Williamsburg." He says of the neighborhood, "They build one skyscraper, and the skyscrapers get lonely."
