After a teenaged boy was shot dead Friday night on West 144th Street in Harlem, the police are now offering a $12,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of his killer. The Daily News reports that Scotty Scott, 13, was on his way to buy sneakers, but stopped to chat with friends playing dice and apparently got caught in some gunfire. The two other teens who were wounded are not cooperating with police. Scott's sister said, "No one had a beef with Scotty. I mean he was 13 - who has a beef with a 13-year-old? We have babies shooting babies right in our streets, right in front of all of us. Something is very wrong with the world."

Gotta love the don't snitch rule :P Also how does a 13 year old afford to buy sneakers?
Only a crass ignoramus would make light of a kid's death.
Perhaps he saved his allowance. Maybe he worked odd jobs and saved up money. Perhaps his parents gave him money for sneakers since it's a new school year.
the same way i bought sneakers when i was thirteen, i worked for it or my folks pitched in.
r.i.p.
rest in peace.
One can buy a lot of smack for $12,000. Someone will snitch.
nothings wrong with the world just black culture.
Im sure who ever shot him listens to new age ambient music.
way to go hip hop way to go.
When I was thirteen, I knew kids my age that sold black tops (crack) in East Harlem and screwed 21-yr olds. I knew 13-yr olds that did thousands of dollars in credit card schemes. There are plenty of ways for 13-yr olds to get in trouble in NYC. PLENTY.
Oh, and Reflect, they were not listening to hip hop. They were listening to Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.
These kids are just afraid of retribution so its not exactly 'No Snitchin' in its truest sense of the term. And in that neighborhood, its hard to believe they can rely on the cops for any sort of protection.
