  • Yankees 7, Mariners 4: A big 7th inning helped propel the Yankees to victory against the worst team in the American League. They scored 5 runs in the frame, sending all 9 batters to the plate and giving Sidney Ponson his first win since August 6th. Mariano Rivera pitched 1 1/3 innings for his 33rd save. As the season slowly ticks away, the Yankees continue to hold onto hope. After defeating Seattle on Saturday and a Red Sox loss, they moved to 7.5 games back from the Wild Card, a spot that the Twins (5.5 back) and the Blue Jays (8 back) are also contending for.
  • Despite moving the men's semifinals up at the US Open, they were unable to complete both matches due to Tropical Storm Hanna. Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic finished their rematch of last year's final. Like last year, Federer got the best of Djokovic, winning in four sets. Federer will face the winner of the suspended match between Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray. Murray currently has a two set lead, but will be down a break when play resumes Sunday at 4PM. The women's final will be at 9PM and the men's final was pushed to Monday at 5PM.
  • Fire 1, Red Bulls 0: A first half goal was all the Fire needed against the Red Bulls. It was New York's first loss in their last seven games. Despite the loss, the Red Bulls still hold onto their spot in the race to the playoffs.
