In Hanna's Wet Wake

2008_09_hannaflood.jpgThe good news about Tropical Storm Hanna: No major damage was reported. The bad new: She dumped "a month's worth of rain within hours"--more than three inches that flooded buildings and highways, delayed flights and put the U.S. Open on pause. The Post has a photograph of a city bus trudging "through the flood waters" and also reports that Ninth Street in Carroll Gardens was "a lake." Northeastern NJ and Long Island got around 6 inches of rain, and power outages hit residents on L.I. and in Westchester County. Luckily, CBS 2 meteorologist Elise Finch predicts, "We are going to have a beautiful Sunday, a nice end to the weekend."

"and stopped the U.S. Open." That's just horrible to hear. I hope Dinkens is recovering from that devastation. Is there anyway it can be started again?
