An unidentified mugger got more than he bargained for when he tried to rob 77-year-old Barbara Mirbt outside her E. 83rd St. home Wednesday night. Mirbt is a tough cookie who survived the World War II bombing of Berlin, so when the thug told her to give up her bag or be stabbed, she wasn't ascared. She tells the Daily News that she fought back, even after the mugger stabbed her wrist with an pocketknife, saying 'I'm going to stab you more." Which he did, finally wresting away the bag, containing $1,500 for a sick friend. But Mirbt wasn't going to give up that easy, and she tried to chase her assailant, "blood leaking through her blouse." Yeah, you better run, punk! A neighbor muses, "I guess Barbara was feeling feisty." She was released from the hospital the next day; the mugger is still on the run from Mirbt.

She reminds me of the Black Night in 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail.'
Although I wouldn't recommend her course of action to others, she sure has balls... or something equivalent to them.
Wow, the one old lady the mugger decides to rob and she's got $1500 in her purse.
She wasn't ascared?
Was she not afraid, or not scared?
One more reason to allow senior citizens to pack semi-auto weapons.

Nah. Full auto....arthritis.
With tough cookies like her, how we ever beat Germany in that war is beyond me.
South Harlem is still dangerous, I see.
If she was carrying $1500., it wasn't a lucky guess he either followed her from the bank or she was fingered. Start with the bank cameras and then the local creeps.
I for one definitely underestimate the old timers. If you survived the bombing of Berlin, a mugger with a pocketknife isn't so scary.
