  • Craig Schley, a community organizer who protested against Harlem rezoning, has decided to run against Representative Charles Rangel. Rangel has held his seat for 38 years.
  • A part-time janitor who helped save a man at the World Trade Center on September 11 was found dead. Kenny Johanneman left a suicide note, saying he's been depressed since 9/11 and hoped someone would find a home for his cat.
  • One Upper West Side couple took a buyout for their rent-stabilized apartment...and moved to Minneapolis.
  • The city's infant mortality rate has dropped to a record low. Also: Lots of Asians babies were born to take advantage of the Year of the Pig.
  • Rafael Nadal gives short answers at 3 a.m. press conferences.
  • And with Fashion Week fast approaching, Barneys' SImon Doonan thinks the lack of diversity on the runways is more troubling than the super skinny models.

Let's make sure Sarah Palin doesn't find out about Craig Schley. Now we know that "community organizers" are a waste of time, but that small-town mayors really get something done.
