Map of the Day: Streetsblog Pins it on Shelly

Noticing Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver's new re-election campaign site, complete with map showing "What Shelly's Doing Near You," Streetsblog created a "Streetsblog: Pin it on Shelly!" map.

Streetsblog was frustrated by Silver's site, which doesn't allow users to put a pin on Canal Street to "make note of Silver's complicity in maintaining that street's never-ending traffic jam and Chinatown's third world-level childhood asthma rate" or anywhere else. If you click on the blue pins in the "Pin it on Shelly" map, you'll see some of the things Silver has not done, but had the chance to fix.

The NY Times did not endorse Silver, noting his opposition to congestion pricing. The primary is on September 9.

What's Shelly doing? Basically fucking up anything he can, and draining every fucking penny out of it too.

The nerds at Streetsblog are so out of touch with the truth.

The Canal Street mess has nothing to do with Silver. It has to due with the reversal of the Verrazano Bridge toll in S.I. which funnels the traffic from S.I. to Canal Street.

That is a Federal Issue and the State has NO SAY whatsoever in it. Blame Schumer or Jerrold Nadler or Hillary. But you think the nerds at stretsblog who live mostly in Brooklyn let truth get in the way of their hateful propaganda?

Note they omit to credit Silver with his greatest victory for NYers: killing the West Side Stadium that would have brought tens of thousands of cars into Manhattan on Jets games and for other events.

If anyone from streetsblog is reading this, think of me on election day, when we sweep Shelly to victory, and think how I'll be laughing at your defeat.

Yeah, I notice there's no pin on the West Side rail yards!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just went over to streetsblog and would you believe the editor read our comments and added to their map Shelly's killing the Jets Stadium at West Side Rail Yards - as something GOOD!

Yeah, they claim Silver is responsible for no 2012 Olympics and no Stadium.

Oh, what a pity. Silver stopped hundreds of millions in tax benefits to the uber-wealthy owners of the Jets.

Forget that the Olympics would have cost us billions that would be better spent elsewhere, and that the Jets Stadium would create the WORST traffic jams ever witnessed in NYC! The WORST.
And loads of pollution.

This shows the complete hypocrisy and malignancy of the editors at streetsblog. Even one of the commenters mentioned the toxicity of the editor of that blog.

Well, they can stay in Bklyn and we will laud Silver when he tramples their little chum, Newall, on Tuesday
