Why is it so hard to understand? They want abstinence to be the one, true path to birth control. Contraceptives are a tacit admission that abstinence is not practical and/or desirable for most people. Even Fox News, that bastion of liberal press (not), noted the growing campaign of trying to deny contraceptives to women.
