Tugboat Times Along the Hudson

Yesterday was the 16th Annual Tug Boat Race in the Hudson River. Officially called the Great North River Tugboat Race & Competition, it was a dazzling day for watching the tugs parade and perform.

In the end, the Ross Sea won the race over twenty-five other tugboats. Captain Greg Aitken told the Daily News, "We prepared for it all week. We tweaked our computers, did our homework. I'm happy for the boat and for the company." But the third place finisher, the Rosemary McAllister, is protesting the time, with the captain wife saying, "We did not come in third. We're being prejudiced against because we're Red Sox fans in a New York harbor."
