She's something of the future of the Republican party - pushing for a federal ban on gay marriage, but recognizing equal rights of partners. They really couldn't take it any other way. Alaska isn't really America, she is definitely a poor choice for VP. I wonder what role they have in mind for her? She's no Cheney, that's for sure, but I guess McCain thinks that's his area of expertise.

Palin would be a horrible pick. She doesn't excite the crazies (especially being a closet gay rights supporter), and she has literally zero experience. Under an ethics cloud in Alaska, too. Just because you're a VPILF, doesn't mean you're a shrewd political choice.
