One West Coast baby blog has had it up to here with the lack of respect Grover is getting on Sesame Street, asking "has anybody gotten screwed over" more than the lovable blue guy? The one time Big Muppet on Campus has been overshadowed by that fame whore Elmo. They claim the red muppet, who has less of a pot belly and a dumbed down version of Grover's schtick, has become what Al Roker is to Willard Scott. It's also noted that the other Sesame Street elders, like Big Bird, get more respect, with "classy elder statesman" roles. What's next, will Super Grover be taken out of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?

Grover with his coconut head, noodle arms, and hopeless optimism and enthusiasm has always been my favorite. Snuffleupagus comes second. Telly comes dead last, 'cause he's a neurotic freak.
They're just asking the wrong people. My two-year-old loves Grover and calls his Grover doll "Super Grover" all the time even though he's just a plain old Grover. Personally, I like Cookie Monster.
I love Grover, except I never want him to be my waiter ever.
"except I never want him to be my waiter ever."
heh
Elmo is the most annoying of the Sesame Street monsters. He seems more forced than anything else, Grover on the other hand seems like a real person, or would it be monster?
Grover's a naif, but Elmo's the poseur.
Snuffleupagus and Oscar the Grouch are the best Sesame Street characters. All the others, except Mr. Hooper, suck in comparison.
Elmo just wishes he was the monster at the end of that book.
Obviously they didn't see my video! I got to meet Grover last month, and was as excited as if I had met George Clooney.
