A reader took this photograph of these women in Madison Square Park yesterday and says it's possibly a Dove commercial, given some cameras she saw. Anyone else know? Could the Olympic-style street harassment have become more coordinated?

All that jelly and no toast.
Cameraman: "Everyone say cheeese!"
Who knew? You don't need a boat to go whale watching.
Anyone else find it interesting how they're spaced out?
I walked by. It was weird. Some of the girls looked really uncomfortable as guys were watching (understandable for both sides, I suppose). Some camera guy was telling this fully clothed girl standing in front of the bikini models to say, "I wish that I had bigger hair." And then the girl said her line.
I have no idea what is was for. I kept walking.
More crew members and equipment would be visible if this had been a TV commercial filming.
It was an episode of Tyra Banks show interviewing women about their body image (which is often effected by insensitive remarks like the above)
We saw that while leaving an appointment with a client.
Just decided it was such a great day - to take a shortcut through the park - and OMG!
monkeymonkey, thanks for clearing that up. My favorite Tyra episode about body image is when she donned the fatsuit and went on dates with guys who were disgusted. Second is when she discussed the unflattering bathing suit pictures and told everyone to kiss her ass (video).
Jesus Christ, it looks like they all were sitting in a gravel driveway right before this shot.
Isn't it like Tyra Banks and the criticisms she doles out on Top Model that cause people to have body-image issues?
No, yes, yes, no, yes, yes, no.
My Guess is that it's a commercial for Dove's Body firming Cream that teaches women to feel good about their bodies and other ridiculous notions. C'mon, people only care about women if they are attractive.

They should do a show taping women's reactions to finding out that a guy is short, bald, not an investment banker, and/or lives outside Manhattan.
No one is sensitive to men about their beer guts. Why are women so weird about their weight? Work out if you're so fat.
no, yes, yes, no, no, yes, no
Caryatids
This photograph made me gay.
i didnt know manatees could stand.

I've heard of at least a couple of studies that women are more critical of their own appearance than men are. Men are happy with women a bit bigger than, women think they should be.
DO NOT WANT!
Wow, you guys are mean. Every woman has cellulite.
monkeymonkey, "affected," not "effected." come on people.
oh, Tyra. humiliating women so you can make a point about how unjust it is to humiliate women.
I wonder if she thinks these women are proud to be standing there like farm animals in the service of her dumb social experiments or if she understands they just need the money. I can't make up my mind over which realization would be cruelest.
marginal, i totally agree... i love how she spent like 15 episodes humiliating other women because some magazine called her fat
yes,no,yes,yes,no,no,yes
I want them real thick and juicy, with a side of lean.
oh god nice back fat on the last one
Did we NOT expect a bunch of "fatty" comments here?
Somebody call Seaworld. We found their missing Orcas
Two things are pretty certain:
1) it was some kind of publicity crap that does not warrant any kind of news coverage
2) you're playing right into the marketers' hands by writing about it.
yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
Any woman who can stand proudly in a bikini with sexy, confident posture gets a big "yes" in my book.
I need to see the cantaloupes that go with all that cottage cheese.
i think i have that same swimsuit.
The mean comments aren't funny, especially to people who have serious body issues. Have a heart, people.
This is the problem with America. Instead of making women feel bad about themselves for being fat and lazy they reward them with saying it's okay to be a fat gross unhealthy hog with mounds of hogflesh stuffing their faces all day. It's not okay.
Hmmm, Loin of pork!
TYRA is a washed up has been. She created most of the body image issues with her fucking show. Wake up anyone who watches that wig in buckets of makeup. No ones paying any attention to you anymore tyra skanks.
babyhitler-
It's not healthy for people to be overweight. Everyone knows that. But being insensitive to someone with a weight problem will make them feel worse, and they will EAT MORE because they feel bad about themselves. People that feel good about themselves are more likely to take a positive approach and start to exercise and eat healthier. Where's the good in being mean? Be nice and understand that NOBODY is perfect.
Here here BH. well said
#38 - I totally disagree. Growing up my sister was a porker and I totally got on her case about it. Making Pig noises and calling her Mount fatty really got to her and she lost tons of weight so that she looked good enough in college that a lot of guys asked her out. Now, she finally found a dude to marry and he "loves her just the way she is" and now she got fat again. Now she has high cholesterol and High blood pressure and I feel that the dude is gonna divorce her cause she's fat. Being Nice solves nothing. You need the specter of shame to motivate you into losing weight.
#40 - I was overweight, and I still am overweight, but I've lost 50 pounds in the past 6 months. I've been able to take better care of myself because I am *happy* with my life and myself and I feel damn good because of it. I was never able to do that when I was unhappy. If that is really true about your sister giving her psychological issues *probably* wasn't the best way to help her.
Oh, it's 6:30, has the focus group started?
Meh. If people weren't being assbutts I wouldn't feel the need to comment. I can't help myself.
"Men are happy with women a bit bigger than, women think they should be."
I agree, but there's a limit on how much butter I'd like on my toast.
Well, my boyfriend is old and balding and poor, and I like him just fine.
And I think you people who are making fun of these ladies are a bunchprobably hate yourselves as much as they are hateful to others. That's the only way I can explain your vile way of expressing yourselves.
Furthermore, it is not how much a woman (or man) weighs or how old she is that makes her attractive. It's how attractive s/he feels.
For that matter, if fat women or men are so unattractive, how come they have girl/boyfriends, husbands, families and good careers? Eh? They have what some of the commenters here don't have: some kind of human saving grace that makes them attractive and desirable, more than any diet or makeover could make them (or youse guys).
I know plenty of models and so-called "hot girls" and rich guys (of the goodlooking and runty but rich variety) who are are such a-holes that they'd be lucky to find a dog on euthanasia row who'd consent to go home with them.
(sorry for the bad editing above, obviously I was going to be a little more rude than I ended up being).
Who gives a f-?
That statue looks like it's grabbing its crotch.
Makes you wish for the old days of the park
circa 1979.
OH THAT babyhitler!
