THEATER: A "free and uncut" production of Hamlet up at the Cloisters is getting great reviews. Andy Webster at the Times writes that "the ingenuity of its staging was impressive...Nature, too, played a role: the descending darkness lent the right opening ambience, and one tableau — that of the performers illuminated by ground lights, with trees in silhouette behind them and the twilight sky beyond — was arresting." And though Christopher Gottschalk’s performance as Hamlet "towered above his co-stars’, he raised the bar for everyone." David Fuller also has a rave review. The run ends on Sunday. – John Del Signore
