The problem for Democrats is that the GOP is usually better at campaigns that can be distilled down to one symbolic moment or issue. They, especially the Bush family and advisors, also are better at political knife fights. Bush 41 had Lee Atwater and Dukakis's tank and Willie Horton and 43 has Rove and they have at least three war heroes in their wake that had their character assassinated in the name of an election.

Now, Rove and his ilk are in McCain's ear whispering that Obama is ''different'' from us because of his lippy wife and the crazy minister. The result is a close election that should be a rout.
