I don't understand how these people didn't consider the dirty mist blowing into the wind before building this? That was my first question. WTF, mate?

The east river is digusting...trudging up that bacteria into the air is even more disgusting. Didn't anyone consider that?

Not to mention—they're heinous.

It's too bad there aren't any trains or buses in this city that would enable you to get around without a car.

It's too bad that we are needlessly exposed to crap, masquerading as art, that spews polluted water on our trees, parked cars, and anything else nearby.

It's too bad that there are people who lack the ability to tell art from crap, lazily decide that everything is art, and zealously advocate that we should not criticize or remove crap even when it is shown to damage the environment and private property.

"Reporter Sarah Portlock, who has dubbed this whole thing a "tree-bacle," also notes that drivers who park near the falls are returning to find their vehicles coated with oil residue and salt."

wow did no one think that blowing the water from a heavily polluted river into the air would hurt anything???

wow... I'm going to file for an ART grant called 1 million heaters sitting on a iceberg... I could paint them like penguins... I dont think anyone will mind when there is 4 inches less of the north pole (but dont worry I'll make it a green art project by using Solar Power to run the heaters...)

These things were a waste of money and it looks like it is going to wind up costing the city money. Plus they aren't art. A water feature, yes. Art, no.

The Public Art Fund should have put the millions of dollars towards something useful like arts in public schools.

Those waterfalls are completely ugly and probably one of the least artistic things i've seen in this city. They were comparing them to the gates in central park but come on, when you look at them all you see is the mammoth skeleton, and a bit of water trickling out of it. Its an eye-sore.

Seriously, how could people get excited about this? If they at least hid the ugly superstructure underneath, then it could have been cool, but it seems like the "artist" half assed it and spent the rest of the budget on coke and hookers.

The money should have been spent on nicer parks or something actually useful, how about they "artsy" up the freaking subways with much needed renovations, then at least we have no reason to complain.

I never really saw how the waterfalls qualify as "art". They really don't speak "one man's expression of his personal vision" so much as "wouldn't it be cool if New York has some waterfalls?"
