Brooklyn Video Store Owner Shot to Death

2008_08_bklynvid.jpgA man who owned a video store Lott Avenue was shot to death in the store, The Whole Nine Yards, yesterday morning. El-Hajj Kareem Shabazz, described by the Daily News as someone "known for forgiving customers...if they were a few dollars short," was confronted by two robbers yesterday morning. An employee "walked in as Shabazz collapsed." One teen remember that Shabazz let youngsters look around, which many shop owners didn't allow, and one neighbor told NY1, "He was a great guy. And it's a shame because they shot three people here last year."

r.i.p.

honestly the video store is a relic. netflix or something similar is the way to go.

c'mon. 'What Happens in Vegas' wasn't *that* bad a movie.

Well edFx, just because its old doesn't mean useless. I love netflix but still have a vcr just in case. Have you ever heard of nostalgia! There is an old lady out there who don't know what a dvd is but she can work a vcr like a pro. Let's not flush the new baby out with the old bath water.

Did he not have any surveillance cameras in his store.

Digital CCTV Recorders / Storage devices can be had for a couple of grand now.
