I will always see a vision of my Ebony each and every day. When I wake up, she will be there. When I walk down the street to go to work, she will be there. As I sit and do whatever I do during the day, she will be there. She was smart, intelligent, funny, loving, caring, and more. This, we will miss of her. Her smile, her laughter, her comments, her challenges.

For those of you who say those things that only ignorant people would say, well, we can't help it if you were born ignorant. She was not an illegal; she was all American; Hispanic American born and raised.

I can still see her walking past me the last night of her life. What tragedy, what fear she must have gone through the last moments of her life when that animal choose to take her from us. She calls her cousin only because she would not have believed that this animal would do anything to hurt her. Poor judgement, yes! But that was her first thought she had. She was scared that night and all she could think about was calling someone she knew. Was there anyone closer; yes. But she was staying for the first night, at her cousin's, my niece so she felt it was the right thing to do at the time. Did she try to call 911 after? Only those that knew what happened those last few minutes of her life know the truth. You see, there are a lot of things you don't know that happened that night so you should keep your comments to yourself or throw them in the trash.

She was everything to us, and now she's gone because this animal just couldn't accept rejection. Oh, by the way, her daughter is not an orphan because he was not the father. Again, saying things and making assumptions without knowing anything.

Thirty five minutes. That's a long time for someone to cry for help, for help!!!!!!! and have neighbors ignore her cries because what!! They thought she was a drunk?? What idiots!!! We will never forgive them for what they did by ignoring her cries. If they had called immediately, she would be with us today. Instead, they let her bleed to death.

I am sorry Ebony, that there had to be ignorant, stupid, scared people that didn't know the difference between help! help! I've been stabbed, please help me then someone who is drunk making noise and raising the volumn of a radio, or laughing and carrying on like drunks generally do. What a shame that help, help, I've been stabbed, please help me, went unanswered for 35 damn minutes. I'm so sorry Ebony! Because of these neighbors, you had to suffer for 35 minutes, bleed for 35 minutes, cry for help for 35 minutes, scared for 35 minutes, helpless for 35 minutes. Thirty-Five minutes that could have been used to stop the bleeding, get you to the hospital in time so you could be with us today, and that animal would be behind bars. But you would be with us.

You will always be in our hearts Ebony. You will never be forgotten. You will always be in our dreams, in our thoughts, in our conversations. We will always see a vision of you, talk with you, pray with you. I know you were scared that night; who wouldn't be. I wonder how those neighbors would want their neighbors to react if something as tragic happened in their lives. Would they want their neighbors to wait 35 minutes and say the next day, "Nothing like this ever happens in this neighborhood; we thought it was a drunk so we just ignored it?" I wonder how their loved ones would feel.

We love you baby. You can rest now knowing that no one will ever hurt you again. God is with you now protecting you always. Rest in Peace my love. I will always be here for you and pray for you baby girl.

@tsol
Have more respect for the dead , that girl's family is a very close and hardworking group of people and they are very legal!
That comment you posted here shows how ignorant you are by making such a generalization.
To the person who waited so long to call 911 while you heard her screaming.... her screams will haunt you for the rest of your life.
To Mott the Hoople ....you feel better for contributing your 2 lousy cents and making the universe right again?

well, you see, she, the "lazy fucking bitch" neighbor, wouldn't feel the pain you feel because she'd be dead, while you, the bereaved, are still alive. and anyway, you shouldn't wish death on anybody. you should probably be making sure the recently orphaned two year old doesn't become a totally wrecked human being destined for prison or an early grave.

this was my friend. so what if she was drinking, theres no right for someone to Murder her. i hope to GOD they find this man, and put him under the jail forever. Eb was a strong woman, who reminded me a lot of myself, and for those to come on here, making comments about shit they dont know, well its really a downer. She was 21... with much more years to go, and he ended that... As for the neighborhood, people are so freaking interested in everyone elses buisness, why cant they be interested when really needed. Whta type of person is gonna hear someone screaming for 35 minutes and just lay back watching tv. That neighbor was a lazy fucking bitch, and maybe if this happened to her shed feel the pain we feel.

Hmm, why would a "hispanic" be afraid to call the police? It's a mystery! I mean, if the reporter doesn't spell it out there must not be a reason, like, I dunno, being here illegally?

Screaming must be a usual occurrence in the area... 35 minutes seems a bit excessive.

This is a quote from the New York Post.....

If this is true, the victim could have saved so much time by just calling the police DIRECTLY

At about 1:30 a.m., Garcia, who has a 3-year-old daughter, called a cousin in Florida and told her that she was scared because Penafiel, who has a history of abusing the victim, was in the apartment.

The cousin called 911, but couldn't get through to a New York dispatcher, so she called her mother, who lives in the city.

Garcia's aunt dialed 911 at 1:57 a.m. and said that the her niece was being beaten.

About 15 minutes later, cops, who received a call from a neighbor at 2:12 a.m. arrived at the house
