David: Because it isn't the real car from the movie. It's a 'Barris Replica' and isn't screen-used, despite what Mr. Barris might claim. The authentic, screen-used Ecto-1 was recently restored so it could tour the country for promoting Ghostbusters: The Video Game. It was supposed to be at Comic Con in San Diego, but reputedly broke down en-route. You can see photos of the real car on sites like www.protoncharging.com or gbfans.

Agreed - how can you have the Ghostbusters car and NOT have it in the city?

This is fantastic! But one gets the feeling that it would attract more visiting International tourists if the museum was in the city or in at least Brooklyn/Queens.
