New Jersey Teens Suspected of Frozen Paintball Attack

2008_08_paintball1.jpgThree New Jersey residents were hit and one badly injured when a car drove by their porch and fired frozen paintballs at them. The police say suspects in the attack are from Wayne County High School and speculate that this may be part of an initiation ritual before their senior year. Thomas Kaminski was in the hospital for three days after being hit right in the head, but seemed unsure of what to do with the teens who left him with a sizable welt. "On the one hand I do not want those kids thrown in jail because it's going to make them more violent, more criminal. On the other hand, I don't want it to just go away. They should be punished," Kaminski said.

Non-frozen paintballs would have been such a better prank. I mean the stuff hurts as it is.

This is what comes of parents who think that everything little Johnny does is A-OK and to be rewarded with cars, trips, clothes and whatever crap the kid wants. Here's a suitable punishment: No car. No prom. No gadgets. Learn to act like a human.

FOOLS! Where is the ability to make these idiots realize that solid objects shot at people will hurt them?

No video games for these kids for at least a week. Go to your room.

the suspects appear to come from a privileged household, not so much the victim.

"Learn to act like a human."

I agree. Good advice.

The morale of this story and the goat-killing one: never underestimate the rage, hostility and pent-up sexual frustration of the adolescent male.

Rocknrope, nowhere in the story is there a mention of sheep.

Here's a suitable punishment: No car. No prom. No gadgets.

That's too light. Remember, one of the victims had to be hospitalized for three days. Some jail time is almost certainly appropriate. It doesn't have to be much, just a couple of weeks probably would be enough, but there has to be some.

I was shot with paint ball guns twice and the second time was the cold paint ball. The second incident ; I was hit from a drive-by on my left side hip where my liver is located. At first I thought it was a bullet. Thankfully I realized it was a paint ball because I would have dropped like a fly from being shot to the liver. I wish there was someone on the beat to witness it. Then they could have had a good nights rest in jail; paying up some fees and cataloged in the system. Overall people wake up to go to work and sooner or later the police will stumble a pond some paint ball lovers cruising in there cars during third shift ya' know?

Frozen paintballs are for wimps. REAL psychos shoot marbles instead.

Try them as adults and give them a year in prison for aggravated assault. School's out. These brats had many opportunities to develop and grow like everyone else. Now it's time for them to taste the fruits of their wicked path.

Paintball firing squad for the perp!

Damn, takethecanoli beat me to it. Putting them in jail will make them more violent. If they are under 21, hold the parents responsible, have them pay OOP for all medical expenses, any psychological follow-up and then on top of that, force them to parade around town marked as the parents of these POS children with their children to suffer the humiliation of their pathetic deeds. Maybe then parents will get involved with their frigging families. Why bother saving this detritus. Money is best spent producing sound citizens than trying to revert bad apples to unbruised!

taking chad and everett to the klink won't make them more violent, violated yes, but violent no.
they already are violent, entitled and smug.

wayne county high school? did you mean wayne valley? for a blog that just reposts news stories from other media outlets, you're copy-and-paste feature doesn't seem to be working.

in other news, i went paintballing this weekend. my bruises a huge enough, i'd hate to see what a frozen paintball can do.
