Bill Clinton Supports Representative Towns

2008_08_billdavid.jpgThe Politcker has a photo showing former president Bill Clinton, along with other NY notables, at a fund-raiser for Representative Ed Towns. Towns, who has served as Congressman for 25 years, is up for re-election, and was a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. His challenger Kevin Powell hopes to seize on the fact that the district actually has more Barack Obama supporters to win the primary. Also at Towns's fund-raiser: Governor David Paterson, City Comptroller William Thompson, and the Reverend Calvin Butts.

Oh, great, and now Powell is lying to the people again. So, he is apparently reporting to folks that he is a "Rutgers University graduate."

Last time I checked, I thought Powell had been expelled for attacking another student. I doubt the Powell campaign will have the integrity to clarify the story though.

It's a sad state of affairs when someone like Kevin Powell can be considered a serious candidate for public office. A landslide rebuke of his candidacy is in order.
