08deathwishbronson.jpgMOVIE: Today marks the start of Anthology Film Archives New York City Vigilantes series, where they invite you to "Beat the suffering summer heat with some of the finest NYC vigilante films from the mid 70s to early 90s." Tonight you've got a choice between 1981 cult classic Ms. 45 and 1974's Death Wish (starring Charles Bronson, pictured).

THEATER: Damn, the Ice Factory festival of new work ends this weekend and we missed everything, which is inexcusable considering how highly we regard it. (Um, where the shit did summer go?!) The 15th Annual Ice Factory melts into oblivion with the Riot Group's Victory at the Dirt Palace, a loose adaptation of King Lear, in which "rival father/daughter news anchors compete for ratings in a head-to-head prime-time showdown. Their vicious battle for supremacy becomes a national drama as sex scandals, terrorism and dementia threaten their careers." The satire previously played in London, where the Independent deemed it "slick, ferocious, and mesmeric." – John Del Signore

7 p.m. // Ohio Theater [66 Wooster Street] // $15

PARTY: Artist Jason Munn, Insound and 20 bands got together to form the Insound 20 "which features iconic designs for 20 of Insound’s favorite bands, silk-screened onto American Apparel t-shirts & hoodies as well as on hand-numbered and signed silk-screened posters." Beirut, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The New Pornographers, The National were amongst those involved. Tonight Insound celebrates with all 20 designs on display, music, and complimentary Colt 45 and 1800 Tequila.

MUSIC: Union Hall is hosting a Brooklyn Campfire tonight, which promises music, film and art with Tracy Bonham, The Anniversary Party, Miss Rodeo USA and Jeannine Hebb. Entertainment Weekly said of Bonham, "Most of the alt-rock class of 1996 have graduated to real estate, but Bonham was built to last...If some teenage TV couple doesn't fall in love to 'Eyes' -- and, the following season, break up to 'All Thumbs' -- somebody at The WB is falling down on the job."

7:30 p.m. // Union Hall [702 Union St, Park Slope] // $10

Meanwhile, in Manhattan, Jennifer O'Connor celebrates her record release at Mercury Lounge. She will have a full band backing her (featuring Jon Langmead, Michael Brodlieb, Chris Brokaw, and Amy Bezunarta with more special guests). Bonus: DUMP is opening (aka James McNew of Yo La Tengo).

7 p.m. // Mercury Lounge [217 E. Houston St] // $10
