As if you needed any more reasons to choose Jet Blue over other airlines, Grub Street got their hands on renderings for the dining and drinking areas of the airline's renovated Terminal 5 at JFK airport, scheduled to reopen October 1st. While it does give one pause that the design is being done by ICRAVE, the same firm that unleashed Crobar upon our fair city, their vision is certainly a cut above most airport dead zones. Seen here is the rendering of the Deep Blue bar and Asian fusion joint, which doesn't seem like such a bad place to sit out an interminable flight delay.

That looks amazing. I wonder if a new terminal is enough for people with miles on other airlines to fly JetBlue.
That does look great. They offered their "True Blue" members the chance for an early look/trial run of it on Saturday.
Can't wait to check out Terminal 5...I just wonder where the money is coming from...they're hurting just as bad if not worse than every other airline. I hope they don't sink :(
Wait a minute people. This extravaganza is meant for people waiting for a flight, not for people who are sitting on the tarmac for four hours.
Forget about the bling. If I need to take a flight somewhere, I want to get on an airplane and that airplane should take off at the time it is scheduled. I don't want to spend my time in some bullshit starchitect designed restaurant selling high priced "fancy" food waiting for some delinquent airline getting their act together to do what I originally paid for and wanted to do.
Over-reaching design. It looks like Disneyland. Bleh.
Better than the underreaching design that's present in, uh, 99% of airport terminals.
Sitting in an upscale bar is not going to make me forget that my flight has been delayed for several hours.
It wouldn't be bad if they bought the drinks for having a seven hour delay. But no... sitting on the tarmac for six hours because they left the gate on schedule really doesn't cut it.
Getting back to reality. Would any intelligent person enter that space and talk to the person next to you?
I dont know about your experience, but i've found airport bars to be places where people become TOO friendly. I just want to get sauced before my flight, i dont care about the business trip yr on. And no, I'm not gay and I don't want to try a bite of your pizza.
ooooooh-can't wait to sleep for six hours on the floor of that!
Wy did they pick that color?
That's gorgeous. But I am sure some people will have a problem with it for some reason!
We have those same understated, white chairs and round tables in our employee's lunchroom
it's beautiful--but now picture it chock-full of fat-assed tourists each with 5+ roll-on bags and screaming children...
