Yesterday, PoliticsNY posted emails that Assemblyman Sam Hoyt (D-Buffalo) sent to a colleague's then-19-year-old intern, prompting the married father of two to apologize for a "painful and private matter." The emails are from 2003 and 2004 (including one where Hoyt writes, "I could be your human lollipop") and many were sent before the Legislature's anti-fraternization policy was enacted in May 2004, though Hoyt did try to meet up with the young woman in June 2004. Assembly Leader Sheldon Silver, forwarded the allegations to the ethics committee and said, "The Assembly has strict policies regarding fraternization. Violations of these policies will not be tolerated." Hoyt happens to be up for reelection this year.

"I could be your human lollipop"
That is so viciously vomit worthy.
These emails scandalous and hilarious. The man has no game.
I'm def gonna use that lollipop line at the bar this weekend.
it's not as bad as wanting to be her tampon.
another one bites the dust
Who cares? I've got other things to worry about than human lolipops and horny politicians. He's probably the most benign of them.
Wow, that is some terrible site design at PoliticsNY.net.
Illuzzi (PoliticsWNY.net) has been blogging in Buffalo since, like, 1996. I don't think he's changed the format of his site since then.
My favorite bit from the e-mails is "i chose you over buffalo". Good to know exactly where he stands with regards to his constituents.
This article is useless without pics of the 19 year old intern.
"i chose you over buffalo".
More like "I chose you over my wife and kids." Scumbag.
"I could be your human lollipop"
Obviously, he is being framed by Mandy Moore.
^ lol about Mandy Moore.
Just another politician who isn't able to keep his tool in his pants.
While I suppose the sex lives of our "leaders" shouldn't be front page news there is something very irritating about these guys. If my employer can fire me for "fraternizing" with someone on a lower level in my company (i.e. does not even have to be a subordinate of mine) then these guys should have to play by the rules our politically correct society has created even if there is no explicit policy (see Clinton, William J.)
And furthermore, what sort of idiot emails this stuff? It's the 21st century. Don't leave an electronic trail.
And in the case of John Edwards, what sort of idiot starts an affair when he knows he is going to be running for President? That was worse judgement than the actual affair.
Which is better, a lollipop or Bill O'Reilley's falafel?
The dude was wrong, but who can't see that this is an effort to ensure the GOP has an adequate amount of power in Albany? Think Spitzer's scandal wasn't motivated by similar efforts? Think again. Expect more of these. The funny thing is that if one were to do enough digging, I'm sure you'd find similarly scandal-prone Republicans. I don't know why the Dems don't get better private investigators and more control of the media as part of their gambit.
Goodbye Albany, hello Tonawanda.
