The two party system encourages binary thinking. If we had a healthy multiple party system, instead of infrequent cranks like Nader and Perot, voters might be encouraged to mix it up a little in the booth, and the parties might try a little harder to listen to their constituents in order to get their votes.

Why is it that it only seems to be libertarians who ever seem to realize that unilaterally picking a side and letting that political party make all of their political, ideological and moral decisions for them is ignorant and lazy? Granted, they do choose the "libertarian side," but I don't see how it's so bad to reject the joiner mentality that the two-party system fosters. Aren't we supposed to be informing ourselves as voters, and choosing candidates based on issues we personally have an opinion on, and not just red vs. blue, or donkey vs. elephant? I'm not saying libertarians are right or wrong, I'm not siding with them either; just making an observation.

It's not going to mean anything except to New York state Republicans who aren't crazy about libertarian asshole Golisano to begin with. Golisano has donated millions to basically any charity or non-profit that moves in Buffalo and Rochester. Currently he's throwing money at impoverished cities like Elmira to downsize their government because it's ideologically important to him. Where Elmira will make up the difference in employment doesn't seem to fit into this ideological crusade.
