Obama May Announce VP Pick on Wednesday

2008_08_vps.jpgAfter earlier reports that Senator Barack Obama would be ready to announce his vice presidential running mate this week, now it seems that he may do so as soon as Wednesday. According to the NY Times, the focus is "mainly on three candidates: Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana, Gov. Tim Kaine of Virginia and Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware," (though there are hopes Obama will choose a female running mate, like Senator Hillary Clinton or Kansas's Governor Kathleen Sibelius--a CBS News-NY Times poll 61% of Democratic candidates like Clinton as a VP). Recent issues: The Georgia-Russia conflict, Musharraf's resignation suggest that Obama needs more foreign policy experience in his VP. On the other side, Senator John McCain will announce his running mate on August 29.

Democratic delegates, not candidates, like Clinton.

Female vs male should not be an issue, the best cand for the job, etc.
But if I were to pick up the Shillary AntiChrist as a VP, I would also hire a food taster, make sure the SS guys are my pick, and invest in Kevlar pajamas. Avarice & the lack of conscience so typical of the anti-social personality remove the restraints from the human mind.
"Mommy, make the bad lady go away!".
By accepting the She-wolf, he will be weakening his presidency, and will be reduced to co-consul.
I would prefer Caligula's horse.
Howsa 'bout Web Hubble?

A lot of people don't like Wes Clark even though hes in the loop with Joe Biden and others.

Biden would make a better VP than Clark. Remember you are electing one man who has a team of many men. What counts is the caliber and character of the people one associates themselves with.

Obama/Biden is the best choice since I hear alot of people who are leaning McCain who are saying that they really like Biden.

Obama's best bet on the VP ticket is not Hillary but rather Biden.

As for McCain, the candidates will come from his inner circle.

I can think of Chuck Hagel, Lindsey Graham and Lieberman.

Biden got very little popular vote but the truth is he was the best qualified out of all the candidates who ran for President on the Democratic side. It was a true shame he didn't get more support than he did.

biden has a worse temper, and far more arrogant than Mccain. he is a proven loose canon, and very well might be a nutbag. they're all pretty lame choices...

They better not pick Hillary! 61% of dems may like her, but 61% of democrats have lost the last few elections for themselves, too.

they're all pretty lame choices...
i agree. All of these VPs seem like they would hurt, not add to his ticket. Too bad Edwards proved to be such an idiot, he and Obama at least seemed young and photogenic together.

Based on these lameducks, I'd rather see Obama select his wife as VP; she balances him better than any of these picks do.
