it is a fact that Latinos have a HUGE problem with machismo and abuse of kids.

Either the kid pays the stupidity of the parents or the woman gets hit and then eventually stabbed for declaring emotional independence form a relationship.

But both situations have MULTIPLE examples in other cultural identities.

So if you wanna think it only happens among latinos, you are most likely a man (white chicks will say otherwise in regards to domestic abuse) in total denial.

This is the most awful story. Those poor babies. I'm assuming the mother did not intervene because she was afraid of her husband?

People should not have babies just because they can! Like rats!

This is the outcome: abused, neglected, murdered kids!

It says the 1-year old son was once thrown against a toilet. How did the ACS not do anything after that? I think that's grounds enough to take away the children!!!

This is a crime for which prohibiting procreation would be appropriate, in addition to a nice, long prison sentence tragically cut short.

thankfully, the day he gets to prison will be the same day he's beaten to death.

This is an awful tragedy. That they broke this little girl's bones and never took her to the hospital speaks to the pain and cruelty she must have endured daily. The only good to come out of it is that the brother is out of his parents' custody.

I disagree. No child (or person, for that matter) should have to suffer a violent death at the hands of a parent; to have their life extinguished before any chance of truly living. There are probably millions of foster parents out there that could have given her a loving home. Wishful thinking, perhaps, but it is better than simply writing off an innocent child because "She didn't stand a chance."

It is an awful thing to say, but maybe she is better off. She didn't stand a chance.

It's a terrible, terrible tragedy. It makes me ache.

And for reference, here's the CDC's height and weight chart (PDF) for children birth to 3 years--weighing 24 pounds at age 3 puts Ginelis in the 5th percentile, I think.

It still baffles me that it takes a month to get a dog because of all the background checks but ANYONE can have a child. Some people should just have their balls cut off.
