Clinton's Name to be Placed in DNC Nomination

2008_08_hillroll.jpgIn an effort to unify Democrats after a bitter, hard-fought primary season, presumptive Democratic nominee Senator Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton issued a joint statement announcing Clinton's name will also be placed in nomination at the convention. Obama said, “I am convinced that honoring Senator Clinton's historic campaign in this way will help us celebrate this defining moment in our history and bring the party together in a strong united fashion," while Clinton said, "With every voice heard and the Party strongly united, we will elect Senator Obama President of the United States and put our nation on the path to peace and prosperity once again." CBS News reports both camps are "nearing an agreement" on how Clinton's delegates will participate in the nominating process.

“I am convinced that honoring Senator Clinton's historic campaign"

I think he actually meant to say, "histeric campaign"

Reportedly, an early suggestion from the Obama camp that they participate by making cookies was not well-received.

Way to make the Republicans look good at a critical time. Who let these morons in?

  • Can you trust ANYTHING that comes out of BILLARY Clinton's mouth?

The answer is a BIG FAT NO!

And ANYTHING they do is for their SOLE benefit!! OsiSpeaks.com

@1 - that made my day.

@12 (and I know it's the same poster) -- I wonder if Obama is just taking a breather to let some of the exposure fatigue fade, and then planning to hit back hard during and after the convention. Who knows -- it will be interesting to see.

As much as I dislike Clinton, I do feel like, in some strange way, we are simultaneously suffering from Obama fatigue and a lack of real Obama presence. He made the European victory tour, but I really haven't seen much of him... maybe I've been involuntarily tuning him out.

Clinton would be impossible to ignore, brash and loud and attacking McCain at every opportunity. Bill and Chelsea would be everywhere, Bill appealing to angry Dems and Chelsea taking a more moderate approach, shilling for her mom on college campuses.

Obama hasn't been hitting back very hard, at least not that I'm aware of.

    Democrats need a reboot.

The Democrats should have gone with Clinton.

  • NannyState

Considering Obama's poll numbers, I wouldn't be surprised if she got the nomination.

Considering the Clinton campaign reportedly knew and sat on the Edwards affair for so long, I hope they don't have any dirt on Obama. Sadly, I wouldn't put it past her to try to derail him right before the convention.

    she is truly demented.

So, the National Guard should encircle Invesco Field at exactly what time?

  • jonmiz

Next she's going to want Barack to change his last name to Clinton. Where's her off switch?

  • other_islander

I'd suggest that Obama should drive a stake thorugh her heart, but it's such a small target...

  • Outter Burrougher

this is the exact opposite of a display of party unity. hurts.

  • Rfive

when will we be finished with her?
