Giuliani Time at Republican National Convention

2008_08_giulianit.jpgFormer mayor Rudy Giuliani will speak at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, according to the NY Post. He has night two slot (Sept. 2) and will likely talk 9/11--presumptive nominee John McCain previously told the Post, "I've been with [Giuliani] a lot. I appreciate more than I could tell you his friendship and support. And that was steadfast throughout the primary. He's great American. He united America. I'll never forget that as long as I live." At the 2004 RNC, Giuliani attacked Kerry, praised Bush and 9/11'd a lot. Back then, the Times wrote his speech "fuels speculation" he could be a 2008 frontrunner.

God bless you America's mayor! I have never been, nor will I ever go anywhere near New York or the Liberal elitist East Coast, but on that day you were ALL of ours mayor. 9/11 changed everything NEVER FORGET.

guys just want to share this video that i saw earlier in pollclash that the two presidential candidates talked about their plans about the huge taxes that we are paying, well on my side i would say that Obama has a better plan than McCain has..well just try to check the video in pollclash

@westernqueensland, yes, I was making a play on the negative connotations of "Giuliani Time."

Anyway, it's sort of amazing to think about how much Giuliani's political career has self-destructed in the past four years. But I bet he's like a phoenix, rising from the ashes of this presidential campaign, perhaps eying a perch in Albany.

And New Yorkers will never forget how much of a prick this guy was and is. A normal person might be a bit more humble after getting rejected the way he was during the GOP Primary but not our Rudy. He keeps chugging along to the next paycheck.

  • westernqueensland

Lest I be mistaken "Giuliani Time" refers to police wilding through communities wearing demeaning stereotypes of that population (afro-wigs, etc).

A drinking game would be the only tolerable way to watch the Kabuki theatre that is the political convention.

Although, they could make it more like a game show and pick a name out of the phonebook to nominate. You would probably wind up getting someone better, too.

People should have a drinking game: Every time Rudy say's "9/11" or "Sept. 11th" during his speech, you take a shot.

Considering that McCain is alos divorced and an admitted adulterer, it makes a lot of sense.

    9/11!

  • brooklynbs

I find it funny that the GOP trots out Giuliani, an adulterer and divorcee whose own son wouldn't support him on the campaign trail. Talk about family values!

  • Snoopy

Is he bringing his son for the festivities? A round of golf will take the edge off the stress of his appearance.
