19-Year-Old Arrested for Shooting Taxi Driver
The police arrested a 19-year-old woman for shooting a taxi driver in the face last Thursday. Enois Malbranche, a 62-year-old driver, is still in critical condition; Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Malbranche was "shot in one eye...The bullet exits the other eye." Malbranche had picked up three women at Flatbush Avenue and Fulton Street, but at Lafayette and Franklin Avenue, he stopped when they wouldn't pay the $9.80 cab fare. That's when April Pierce allegedly shot him; it's also suspected the women were trying to rob him. A taxi drivers union and a taxi cab technology company have offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction.

The communities that complain about cabbies' racial profiling and avoiding certain neighborhoods should be donating money to this driver.
Disgusting. The people on this site who long for the NYC of yesterday and equate crime with edginess should be happy, senseless violent crimes like these seem to be making a comeback.

I can't wait for Obama to be president. 1. for revenge against the republicans who voted in bush twice, let's see how they like it when obama becomes prez. and 2. probably 40% of black people will feel pride while 60% of black people will feel shame and humiliation and disgust with themselves when Obama becomes prez.
